hi Dave, It was nice to chat yesterday morning. The band was a bit noisy but you had a great signal with that walk about setup. What are you using for an antenna cause it does an awesome job?I need to build or buy a few antenna and was wondering if that was a home-brew. Hope to chat again when the bands are better.

Your setup won't have been very comfortable here as the overnight was -20 degrees Celsius.

73 & Good Dx
Brad N1NPK

Daves reply: Hi Brad, great to speak with you on 20M .. likewise excellent signals onto the beach here in Blackpool!

I am using a full size quarter wave telescopic vertical on the trolley, so its zero feet above true ground!

I am also using a method that I call ground tuning that enables me to be on the move without the need for any trailing wires or radials.

Let me know directly to my e mail address if you need more information about the ground tuning.

Speak soon ... Dave, G4AKC :!cool:

Hi Dave, it was a pleasure chatting with you today and also Sandra enjoyed her brief Hello as she has great memories of being in Blackpool so many times with Family. We come from Dublin and living here 36 years now but get home every 4th year to refresh our Irish accent and sense of humour>. Your signal was strong at 59+ but holding solid at 5/7 Having been round the block with our Call signs for so many years we have boxs of cards so usually don't bother unless someone needs one. I hope we hear you soon again and Best regards from Sandra and I. 73

Daves reply: Hi Richard, well what great 40M long path propagation, you likewise had a very strong signal onto my trolley this morning ... A pleasure to speak with you and Sandra, you certainly haven't lost your Irish accent! :!cool:

Dave,

Received your signal on Mon 7:07Z/3:07Loc, not strong enough for meter on the Icom but 100% copy of voice transmission. Did not hear any station you had qso with. This is not the first time I have heard your pedestrian mobile, have rec. you at least once
before. Your rig does a great job. I see you have the
boardwalk and open shot out over Atlantic from England's
ocean resort city of Blackpool. You need to replace the
antenna support rod with a red and white striped stick of
"Rock Candy" that I remember Blackpool being known for.
My recall is quite dated, but I'm NOT going back to the
days of George Formby.
Cheers!
Mike

Daves reply: Thanks Mike... Appreciate your report.. I was in QSO with New Zealand and Australia on 40m this morning... Propagation was surprisingly good into the Pacific area... Hope to speak soon.. Yes stripey aerial is a "rock" solid idea 😂

Very nice signal Dave given the conditions you were working in. I hope the rain didn't hurt your equipment. Stay safe, very much enjoyed working your Pedestrian Mobile station.

Best 73's
Keith--AD8L

Daves reply: Thanks for the QSO Keith... Well its all dried out now but the antenna base got fried as the water caused some RF tracking due to the rain! Good old British weather! 🍻
