Wowie Dave! I am very impressed with your "pedestrian mobile" operation. I imagine that the batteries are quite heavy and you can only do this while 'power lasts...to the last mAh...or time to go QRP ! (and carry the CW key when it comes to that).

I look forwards to working you on the WARC bands as well. Keep up the spirit of amateur radio - I'm going to let some of our young "hammies" see some of your videos - I'm sure they will be inspired.

Very best of luck and good dx-ing....keep your eyes out for gawking motorists!

Daves reply: Hello San... What a pleasure to speak with you today... Great signal 59+, the batteries are VERY heavy as you say so hence the trolley! :D

Hi there Dave. we've spoken a few times however heard you this morning booming in here just south of Alicante airport.
I'm really interested in your pedestrian set up especially the matching network to the 'ground'or in your case adjacent to the best earth possible in salt water. Is your system mono band and how do you get the earth resistance low with the matching system ? I noticed you had an MFJ artificial earth with one of your set ups, presumably with a 1/4 wave vertical. I'm thinking of using a loop tuner by MFJ with home made wire loop but grounding not so important in my case. What would you recommend bearing in mind this is good vertical polarisation within 2 or 3 metres of the waters edge ...cheers Ken :!cool:
